Hello friends, family, loved ones, and not so loved ones, and strangers,
My name is Alexander Gustafsson and this is the introduction post to my blog about my wonderful chess adventures.
I will be revealing no secrets of my chessness but will be providing thoughts on things going on in the chess world, possibly my own games perhaps with annotations open for criticism, my personal chess performances, the latest news on tournaments I play, and last my funny chess experiences.
I hope the things you read will be interesting to you and hopefully make you laugh. For I certainly thought it was funny and interesting when I was literally threatened to be killed after winning a game.
Chess is a rich game and has many different qualities that can be divided into three categories: an art form, a science, and a sport. Chess also teaches many qualities like critical thinking, planning, using logic which many people in our society today seriously lack.
I am ranked #4 in the state of Utah where I reside, I have a rating USCF rating of 2084 which means I am considered an expert in the chess universe. I'm very grateful for the friends I have made and the success that I have received through hard work and hope to have more, I have goals that I plan on achieving and am in the process of doing so
I am also a chess teacher, I teach private lessons as well as at Challenger School, and at the Herriman Recreation Center. I love teaching and will probably discuss experiences from there as well.
I also have another blog I use to put down my thoughts concerning life and other topics but not chess. Feel free to check it out at http://alexandergoosethoughts.blogspot.com/
Let's have fun and leave witty comments. Let the chess adventure begin!
-A. Goose
